Search the Index for Obituaries and Death Notices
published in Naples Newspapers from 1927 – 2008

This project was completed by volunteers from the Genealogical Society of Collier County, Inc. as a service to patrons of the Collier County Public Library and the general public. The index has over 59,000 entries extracted from 850 rolls of microfilm housed in the Genealogy Room of the Naples Regional Library, 650 Central Avenue. If you are from outside the area and would like a copy of an obituary listing from the index you may make a request by email.

Subject: Obituary Request
Include the Full Name, Date of Death and Newspaper Issue Date and Page from the index.

How to search:

  1. (1) Select ONE category from the drop down box on left; either Total Database, Surname, Given Name or Date of Death (M/D/YYYY).
  2. (2) On the right; enter a keyword for the category that you have selected. Do not use full names and be sure to use the date format of M/D/YYYY.
  3. (3) Use the Search the Database button to begin your search.

< Examples of how to search:

Select: Total Database (default)
Search Keyword: Any word (do not use full names)
This will return a list of all entries with that keyword anywhere in the database.


Select: Surname
Search Keyword: Smith
This will return obituary newspaper listings referencing Smith for a surname.


Select: Given Name
Search Keyword: Robert
This will return obituary newspaper listings referencing Robert for a given name.


Select: Date of Death
Search Keyword: Date in the form of M/D/YYYY
This will return obituary newspaper listings with a death date in the form 5/22/1977.
