About Us
The Genealogical Society of Collier County (Florida) was founded in 1984 and is dedicated to the researching and recording of family histories, teaching, and assisting researchers. In 2007 the Society filed articles of incorporation with the State of Florida as a non-profit corporation and became a 501(c)(3), non-profit, federal tax-exempt organization. We are members of the National Genealogical Society and Florida State Genealogical Society. Unless otherwise announced, regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month October through May at 7:00 p.m. in Moss Hall at The Moorings Presbyterian Church, 791 Harbour Drive, Naples. Visitors are welcome at our meetings and society members are eager to assist persons new to genealogy. Click Here for map.
GENEALOGICAL COLLECTION
The collection of genealogical reference books is located in the Genealogy Room at the Naples Regional Library, 650 Central Avenue, and is supported by our members both financially and through their volunteer services. The collection of books is exceptional and is utilized by both visitors to our area and members of other societies, as well as our own.
PROGRAMS, CLASSES and GROUP MEETINGS
Every effort is made by the society to provide programs of interest at our general meetings. We offer genealogy classes each year at the Naples Regional Library, 650 Central Avenue, which are open to the public free of charge. We have a number of Shared Interest Groups to help you in your area of interest. Please visit our Education page for details.
PUBLICATIONS
The Society newsletter, Heirloom, is published monthly and sent by email to our members September through May. Each issue contains membership news, program information and announcements, as well as notice of meetings, seminars and classes offered by other societies and libraries. Articles covering all aspects of genealogy are also included in each issue.
